Protective Screens

The unexpected arrival of the COVID-19 pandemic proved that modern, open-plan style workplaces were not adequately arranged to prevent the spread of sickness through the workforce. After offices reopened, the UK Government and the WHO recommended a series of social distancing measures to help protect employees while at work, and to help prevent the spread of the virus.

Our specially designed social distancing screens are a flexible and affordable way of introducing these new measures into a workplace – or improving the existing measures – so that employees can continue with their day-to-day work in a safe environment. Even once COVID vaccines are widely available, these screens will help prevent the fast spread of seasonal illnesses. We sell a variety of social distancing protective screens in different shapes and sizes, for use in: offices, shops, retail spaces, schools, libraries, colleges, care homes, bars, restaurants, pubs, eateries, hospitals, receptions and other spaces where these measures are required.

Manufactured in the UK from Perspex® acrylic or thermally toughened safety glass, materials that are easy to clean and sanitise, our social distancing screens are available in a wide range of styles including freestanding screens, desk mounted partitions, frameless dividers, counter top desk guards, office pods, mobile dividing screens on wheels and many more. Quick and easy to deploy, these clear protection screens are flexible solutions that can be adapted and moved to different locations in and around the workplace as and when the need arises. Desk dividers are available in both aluminium framed and frameless versions, while our freestanding floor screens have either a standing base or lockable castor wheels. Our screens can also be linked together to form partitions or temporary ‘cubicles’.

Although segmentation and social distancing is now essential, communication is still an important factor for any business, and whilst transparent social distancing screens provide a physical protection barrier between employees, they still allow visibility and the opportunity for effective communication.

Our range of social distancing screens includes many 'off the shelf' sizes, however, our manufacturing capabilities allow us to create any bespoke screen depending on what your needs might be. Different shapes, heights, widths can be manufactured. All you need to do is give us a brief on what your layout is and what you are trying to achieve and we can design a solution for you.

All of our social distancing screens are manufactured in the UK and are made using high-quality materials and will provide continued functionality throughout the current pandemic and post COVID-19.

Frequently Asked Questions

Perspex® Screens and Sneeze Guards do not kill viruses and bacteria, but they do form a physical barrier between people in situations where correct social distancing is harder to enforce. By forming a barrier shield, the surface of the screen stops direct airborne viruses from spreading onto another person in a situation where any germs have a direct trajectory. For example, during sneezing, coughing, singing etc.

Our Perspex® acrylic and glass sneeze screens should be used in conjunction with social distancing guidelines, hand washing and hygiene, facemasks and regular sanitisation of areas. With correct procedures in place, partitions can help to prevent the spread of Coronavirus, as well as seasonal illnesses such as Flu or Norovirus.

If you’re unsure about which (or how many) social distancing screens you need for your workplace, our expert team will be happy to help you. You can speak to them on 01234 676767 or, if you’re drawing a blank on how best to set up your office, just send your office layout to us, and we will do the rest.

To remove smudges or smears, wipe down your Perspex® screen with warm, soapy water using a microfibre cloth. Avoid using ammonia-based products as these can damage the surface of the acrylic, eventually causing cloudiness. We also recommend NOT using paper towels or kitchen towel to wipe down your Perspex panel as they don’t do a very good job of removing any scratches and may even cause damage. Stick to soft microfibre cloths wherever possible. Did you know that the composition of microfibre cloths make them more effective in wiping away harmful bacteria and viruses?

To sanitise your Perspex® screen, you can use a standard antibacterial wipe or diluted bleach solution, and then polish the surface with a microfibre cloth.

We do not currently manufacture or sell PPE such as gloves or masks. Our UK-based workshop specialises in producing office screens and partitions and we pride ourselves on our high-quality products.

There are a number of established sellers who distributed PPE long before COVID-19. We would strongly recommend you research all businesses thoroughly before ordering, as many websites (some may be unscrupulous) have been launched recently to capitalise on the demand for PPE. It may be prudent to buy from established companies, even if you have to pay a bit more.

Although vaccines are now available for COVID-19, the virus is likely to remain in circulation for some years, meaning workplaces with unvaccinated employees may still require social distancing measures in place. In addition, social distancing measures are also incredibly helpful in preventing the spread of other seasonal illnesses such as Flu, Norovirus or even the common cold, meaning that keeping them in place will lead to a healthier and more productive workplace.

Recycling is not a service we currently provide. However, if you do wish to recycle your social distancing screens, recycling Perspex® acrylic requires specialist handling and equipment, but it can be done. Experts use a technique called ‘pyrolysis’, where the Perspex® is heated to temperatures exceeding 430°C (800°F) and then placed under extreme pressure, altering the chemical and physical structure of the Perspex® and ensuring that no harmful toxins are released during the process.
