Glazed Office Screens

The COVID-19 pandemic has changed a lot for everyone; the way we live, the way we communicate… and the way we work. Social distancing measures are now required in all UK workplaces to help control the spread of the virus.

Acrylic or glazed screens are a flexible and affordable way of introducing social distancing measures within the workplace to create a safe environment that will be useful for preventing the spread of seasonal illness even once COVID vaccines are widely available. Our ranges of acrylic and glazed social distancing screens help create safer workplaces in order to maximise employee and customer protection while promoting happier and more productive work environments.

We have a variety of acrylic or glass screens in different shapes and sizes, for use in: offices, shops, retail spaces, schools, libraries, colleges, care homes, bars, restaurants, pubs, eateries, hospitals, receptions and other spaces where social distancing is required.

Transparent glass or acrylic screens are ideal when it comes to dividing open plan offices into segregated spaces for smaller groups of people. Communication is an important factor for any business, and whilst see-through acrylic or glass screens provide a physical protection barrier between employees to help them remain healthy and safe, they still allow visibility and the opportunity for effective communication.

Our glazed or acrylic screens are available in a wide range of styles including freestanding screens, desk-mounted partitions, frameless dividers, counter top desk guards, office pods, mobile dividing screens on wheels and many more. Quick and easy to deploy, our clear protection screens are flexible solutions that can be adapted and moved to different locations in and around the workplace as and when the need arises.

Acrylic screens and clear glass acrylic desk dividers come in either frameless or aluminium-framed versions, which ensure wipeable, easy-to-clean surfaces. This means each partition can be easily sanitised on a regular basis for virus control and prevention of infection. Desk screens with cut out hatches are also available, for retail outlets or reception desks. Our floor standing glazed or acrylic screens have a sturdy aluminium frame and are available with or without lockable castor wheels.

Our range of acrylic or glazed screens includes many 'off the shelf' sizes, however, thanks to our manufacturing capabilities, we are able to create personalised bespoke sized screens depending on your requirements. Different shapes, heights, widths can be manufactured. All you need to do is give us a brief on what your layout is and what you are trying to achieve and we can design a solution for you.

Frequently Asked Questions

To remove smudges or smears, wipe down your glazed screen with warm, soapy water using a microfibre cloth.

Avoid using ammonia-based products as these can damage the surface of the acrylic, eventually causing cloudiness. We also recommend NOT using paper towels or kitchen towel to wipe down your Perspex panel as they don’t do a very good job of removing any scratches and may even cause damage. Stick to soft microfibre cloths wherever possible. Did you know that the composition of microfibre cloths make them more effective in wiping away harmful bacteria and viruses?

To sanitise your acrylic screen, you can use a standard antibacterial wipe or diluted bleach solution, and then polish the surface with a microfibre cloth.

Yes, our GUARDIAN Mobile Acrylic Screen on Wheels is available for next-day dispatch (when ordered before 11am).

If none of our standard styles or sizes of acrylic screens are quite right for you, our manufacturing capabilities mean we can create something bespoke and personalised just for you. The first step is to speak with our expert team on 01234 676767 to discuss your requirements and start the design process.

Office Dividers have long been seen as an economical way to partition an office or area into separate sections. Screens were chosen based on function, aesthetics, colour and budget; but COVID-19 has made us aware of the need for screens that are easy to keep clean and sanitised to help prevent the spread of any illness within the workplace. The choice of surface materials is important; Perspex®, glass or acrylic pods and transparent office screens are suitable as they can be wiped clean but they also allow light in, so not as claustrophobic as fabric-covered cubicles or booths. Our partitions and screens are manufactured with aluminium or PVC edgings making them non-porous and easier to maintain.

Combining these newer, modern partitioning alternatives with a sensible office layout plan that ensures social distancing may help your business or organisation better control the virus and bacteria and facilitate a safer and more productive workplace.

The best way to stop COVID-19 spreading from person-to-person is to reduce the opportunities the virus has to infect us. Steps you can take include maintaining a safe social distance, wearing a mask over your mouth and nose when out in public, sanitising our hands regularly (or washing with soap and water for at least 20 seconds, wherever possible) and using protective measures such as PPE and Perspex® screens in our offices, workplaces and public spaces.

For industries where solo work is the norm, setting up a socially distanced office is relatively simple. Investing in glazed partitions (freestanding or on wheels) means you can easily set up mini ‘cubicles’ where people can work safely. These can easily be moved around your office as required to allow frequent adaptation as the rules around social distancing change.

Group working is more complicated, but it is still possible to set up safe, socially distanced spaces for group working. Investing in a series of linked screens means you can set up cross-shape formations allowing four people to work together and collaborate while remaining behind their individual partitions. Or why not link these together inline to divide up your office space into meeting ‘rooms’ where smaller groups can work 2m apart? Hanging screens can also be useful in these situations for creating an informal ‘meeting space’ or protecting staff in kitchen or canteen areas.

Coronavirus is transferred from person-to-person through tiny droplets expelled from the nose or mouth when someone sneezes, coughs or even breathes. These droplets can be transferred directly from one person to another if someone is standing very close, or they can land on surfaces that are then touched by someone else, and the virus is transmitted that way.

Acrylic screens are useful both in public environments and customer-facing businesses as well as offices and other workspaces. A smooth, Perspex®, acrylic or glass panel acts as a barrier to Coronavirus droplets in the air, allowing two people to interact more safely with a social distancing partition between them.

It’s important to remember that wiping down these panels with sanitiser or bleach products regularly is essential to provide maximum protection against germs and viruses.
