How To Measure Your Desk Screens

You’ve decided to invest in a series of desk dividers for your office - now it’s about installing them correctly to get the best from your new partitions. Follow our step-by-step guide to measuring and installing your desk divider screens.

This quick guide covers the following desk screens fitting guides:

  • Acoustic / Standard / Spectrum / Speedy Ranges
  • Aluminium Framed Ranges
  • Frameless Perspex® Ranges

1. Acoustic / Standard / Spectrum / Speedy Fabric Desk Screens

Clamp Specification:

The standard clamp we supply with our fabric desk screens is a ‘C’ shaped clamp and adjusts to fit desks that are 17-33mm thick. For these screens, we pre-drill the holes in the desk screen for the clamps at a certain distance from each end. Please ensure you measure your desk correctly.

How To Measure:

  • Step 1: Measure the thickness of your desk; this is the measurement of the desktop itself.
  • Step 2: Note the length of the desk screen you have chosen; this will indicate where we will drill the holes for the clamps.

On desk screens that are 800mm wide or less, the clamp holes are drilled 75mm in from each end

On desk screens that are more than 800mm wide, the clamp holes are drilled 228mm in from each end

  • Step 3: Using the information in Step 2, locate the points on your desktop where the clamps will sit. The clamps require a clearance under the desktop of 30mm wide and 28mm deep. If the position of the desktop will easily allow the clamps to slot in at the fixed positions (as in step 2), then no further measurements are required. If the frame/support of your desk at the points where the clamps will sit obstructs these measurements, you will need to include step 4.
  • Step 4: If the frame/support of your desktop obstructs the clamp position, then you will need a clamp larger than the standard 17-33mm thick. Measure the thickness of the desktop and frame/support and let us know that you will need an alternative clamp. If you have any questions about the measuring process, please call our team on 01234 676767. Some clamps can be swapped out with no additional cost but some bespoke clamps will incur an additional cost.

Fixing:

The clamps slot onto the desktop and are tightened in place. Their location is not adjustable.

If your desk is more than 33mm thick, or if the desk frame/support prohibits the use of the provided clamps, we can still assist with alternative options. For more information on what to do if your desk is too thick, or for any other assistance in measuring your desk for a screen, please call our team 01234 676767.

2. Aluminium Framed Desk Divider Screens

Clamp Specification:

The standard clamp we supply with our Aluminium framed desk dividers (perspex/fabric) is a ‘C’ shaped clamp. It adjusts to fit desks that are 17-33mm thick. These straight desktop screens are each provided with a pair of clamps in silver finish.

How To Measure:

  • Step 1: Measure the thickness of your desk; this is the measurement of the desktop itself.
  • Step 2: The clamps are 28mm wide and 28mm deep on the under-desk side. You will need two points along the desk edge where your screen will sit where these clamps can be installed. Please check that the frame/support for your desk does not obstruct the clamps. If the desk frame/support will not permit the width or depth of the clamps, you will need to reach out to our team on 01234 676767 for an alternative option.

Fixing:

The clamp can be attached anywhere along the bottom of the screen so you can move it around to avoid any obstructions under the desk. Simply fix the clamps to your desk and slide the screen into the aluminium channel at the base of the frame.

If your desk is more than 33mm thick, or if the desk frame/support prohibits the use of the provided clamps, we can still assist with alternative options. For more information on what to do if your desk is too thick, or for any other assistance in measuring your desk for a screen, please reach out on 01234 676767.

3. Frameless Perspex® Desk Screens

Clamp Info:

The standard clamp we supply with our desk screens is a ‘C’ shaped clamp and adjusts to fit desks that are 17-30mm thick.

How To Measure:

  • Step 1: Measure the thickness of your desk; this is the measurement of the desktop itself.
  • Step 2: The clamps are 40mm wide and 28mm deep.

The acrylic screen slots into the clamp and is held in place with 2 grub screws.

If your desk is more than 30mm thick, or if the desk frame/support prohibits the use of the provided clamps, we can still assist with alternative options. For more information on what to do if your desk is too thick, or for any other assistance in measuring your desk for a screen, please reach out on 01234 676767.
